This year we are going to get the Baja car to Alabama under the existing power from the Briggs and Stratton engine. However, the Alternative Fuels Vehicles Lab is focused on building vehicles that run on fuels other than gasoline,
and we also believe that the ASE Mini Baja SHOULD ALLOW vehicles which are running alternative fuels into the Mini Baja Competition!!! So, this year we are going to proceed as planned, but NEXT YEAR we are going to be converting the Mini Baja to an ALTERNATIVE FUEL, whether it's electric, hydrogen, or bio-diesel, and then taking it to the Baja Competition! We are going to lobby to have them let us enter the car in the competition anyhow! We're going to make a big stink about the fact that alternative fuels are the way of the future, and that ASE should be supporting this idea. Even if it means going and sitting in the parking lot and showing off our awesome car, and gaining enough support to MAKE ASE let us run in the competition, we are going to DO IT! The AFV lab is going to support us in this project evolution and help us make it happen! This will be outstanding!
